    Folks

I'm suffering intermittent limp mode failures, usually on gentle inclines with engine under light load and light acceleration - revving hard up a steep hill does not throw a code.

Anyway, I'm seeing the usual P0401 - this is a December 2009 CBAB GT TDI 140 with the separate EGR cooler pipe behind the block and the EGR valve under the top cover.

Having covered 80,000 miles, I stripped the EGR valve - it was cleaner than expected with minimal build-up - it's shiny now.
The vacuum actuation of the cooler pipe valve appears to function correctly when I apply manual vacuum.

I need the pin-out of the EGR valve connector, please.

This will enable me to manually activate the valve and measure the valve position voltage - one further item to eliminate.

    Thanks

    Chopps

If your going to that trouble just actuate with scan tool and monitor position with live data (or oscilloscope if you want to go to town). If you are powering manually you’ll need a PWM supply.

Yes, I know this - what I don't have are the connx for the solenoid and position sensor.

If anyone can help with an answer to my question, it would be much appreciated.

You don’t need them if you know what you’re doing.

As vag_tech clearly is not interested in helping, merely stroking his own ego - maybe someone else can point me in the right direction.

With my ego sufficiently stroked for the day...if you PM your reg, I’ll grab the requested info for you.

My point earlier was that if you are going to complete testing, of course you’ll need to know what results to expect and how to interpret them or they’ll hold zero diagnostic value...and if you know what to expect, then identification of test points is obvious, given the results.
