Hi I want to do a service on my Audi brakes my A4 has an electronic handbrake? I have an Ancel FX4000 device I just wondered what's the procedure to unlock the electronic handbrake so I can dismantle and remove and clean / replace the brake pads? I read somewhere that you have to "Wind Back the calipers?" so new pads can be fitted? Can someone lead me to an instructional video or whatever so I can follow along? I assume the front one are treated just as standard brakes? or do those need some electronic foolery to do those? Thanks

Front brakes are no different. The electronic brakes need to be released and then reset for the rears. Can't help you with the procedure as I use VCDS and it has a specific procedure and I don't know if it works with other tools. You can find the VCDS procedure on the ross tech website.

As stated front brakes need no electronic programming
When doing the rear you must hook up a battery charger to your battery terminals to keep current up
A Vcds will tell you the correct procedure to follow to disengage brake and open up caliber
