A6 stop start fault.

Hi,
I've had this stop start problem. I went to the garage and the guy said it could be that the timing is off.

I was so annoyed with engine cutting out at traffic lights and not starting that I bought the Carista dongle and disabled my stop start.

So I changed my timing belt and it works a treat now. One of the cogs was off slightly which is to do with the fuel system.

I'm glad it paid off. I'd put my money on the timing belt 👍🏽

Thanks azumore, good to know for future reference. It's been about a month since the 2 HPFPs were replaced and all seems good, though time will only tell when the ambient temperature starts to rise. But so far so good, no stop/start or warm start up issues at all.

When my mate replaced them, he said it looked like the pump on the left hand bank had failed. So one problem (hopefully) solved, and then my emissions warning light comes on! Can't catch a break.
