This has just happened to me with my 2015 A6 estate. I was driving home from Paris and got the warning that says "No restart after 650 miles". No error code. There was also a general engine warning light.

Normally, whenever adblue is low, it warns me at 2,000 miles. I knew something was wrong because I'd only recently topped it up. Anyway, I stopped at a service station and added 5 litres of adblue. The warning remained on. I then had to drive the ~500miles back to Manchester and the warning remain on the entire time.

The current situation is that the car is saying "No restart after 150 miles". I've called my local Audi and left a message. Hoping someone calls me back so I can get it booked in. It's not under warranty so I'm expecting to get rinsed!

I'm nervous about trying a local garage but if it is as simple as a stuck float, they may be able to sort it, so will give them a try too. If anyone has any other advice then please share.

    Many thanks,

    Shaun
I had this as well just got the car back today and it was the Ad Blue pump that was at fault in the end.

Sorry to hear that. Yeah mine was the Ad Blue pump too. Guy in the garage said 1 in 5 problems they get now are Adblue systems.

I know this is an old post but I have just had this message pop up on my 15plate seat(VW engine) topped the adblue up to the maximum so hopefully after 100 miles it will reset itself like yours did, thanks for the update

If you have a system fault message as above then topping it up will not make the problem go away if it due the pump failing. If you are just getting the add adblue message and not indicating a fault, topping it up should make the message go away immediately

I have the same fault message, so bought 10 litres of adBlue and added it - it took all 10. I've driven the car for a few miles and still have the fault message. The suggestions in this string have been really helpful, so I'll drive it some more to see if the system resets itself. If not, I may try an indy repair shop as the dealer will be very expensive. Cheers

I think it wasn't mentioned here, but my fault was caused by the clogged injector nozzle on my 2015 2.0 TDI, few days after refill. Still running on original very first software.
Funny fact, my buddy got an exactly same error on his A7 3.0 TDI, few days after me. It cleared by itself, however. We both used same adblue - Redex one, from same shop.

I had an engine management light come on for the NoX sensor, Bank 2 code P229F00. I had the fault cleared (two or three times!) but finally a "do not start after 650 miles" warning came up with a code of.P20EE00, "Catalyst efficiency below threshold bank". The NOx sensor which from Audi costs around £700 was purchased from Componant Authority in Leicester for.........£108 delivered!!!!I fitted the part but the "Do not start warning" remained illuminated but there were no readable codes shown. I read on the Q5 forum that this warning would disappear after a period of time, once the new sensor had reset itself which was after 30 miles, the warning did indeed go out. Hopefully this will be useful to someone out there.

Hi Steve, That's good information, I went online to purchase one but couldn't fine anything under 'Component Authority in Leicester'. Would you be able to remember the web address/business name and I'll search again?
I've got the same issue and expect a new Nox Sensor will solve the problem.
