Sadly it does NOT fit into Phonebox QI charger under the armrest unless it is 'naked' and has no case on it. Both the official Leather Folio (folding cover type) and the Silicon sleeve (back only case) render the 'phone too big to fit in the slot. Like I said though, leave it unprotected by a cover and you're fine - just. Hope this helps. i have a model 4M Q7 registered in April 2017. Cheers.

Isn’t the max smaller than the plus in overall size?

Not that you would notice. I have an 8 Plus and the only way of getting it into the box is to take it out of its case. I went to the Apple store at the weekend and there was a negligible difference between the max and plus. In the end I have decided to upgrade to a normal Xs which hopefully will fit and will allow to be plugged in also 🤞

The XS will fit fine on Qi pad as I have no issues with the X but as others have noticed, the phone does get quite hot.

I found that out too. The notification of you try and get out of the car without the phone is quite cool.

So far I’ve been impressed with the battery life on the XS Max. To be honest I’m more likely to bother getting the phone out to use CarPlay than the need to charge it.

As an FYI the XS Max does fit perfectly into the phone box of a 2019 Q8 with a case. Mine has a otterbox case on it and it fits perfect and charging works. Anything bigger than an otterbox (which is pretty big) probably would not fit.
