Super slow A4 tdi no turbo

Please help! i brought a 1996 a4 tdi a few months ago for £650 which seemed cheap, but its down on power. There seems to be no power coming from the turbo at all and the car has trouble hitting 60 mph!! it almost fills like theres a blockage somewhere, if thats possible? other than that it runs fine any advice would be great, thanks

Mine has just been down on power and chucked out loads of black smoke between 1500-2000 rpm under load. was also down on economy.

A change of MAF sensor seemed to have sorted it. search maf sensor - common thing to go wrong!

Thanks, sounds like a common problem will get one asap, hopefully better mpg as well only doing 80 miles on £10

hey i go tthe same car.

i had similar problems but i could (eventually) go past 60.

the trick (once you get the car sorted) is not to floor it. use a light foot and you'l get farer.....

anyway, i just posted up a thread as to how i cleaned my MAF and it did the trick for me.. good luck.
