5 Questions about this C6 Avant I collected on Satuday - High mileages so I am fully prepared to have to do/get some jobs done on it

Having just come from a new Skoda Superb - this feels much more comfy, more torquey, and feels less stiff (maybe at 150K we can call it "run in")

    1. Sometimes I can hear a short chrip when I realese the Clutch - only about 2/10 gear changes, and if you have the radio on you wont hear it. nothing else -
    2. On tick over the engine idles lovely but vibrates too much for a premium - is there an easy test for the engine mounts or could it be something else?
    3. Drivers seat electric controls - the front of this panel is loose - but it has a wire u shape bar - howis this retained
    4. It came with winter tires fitted and a set of summer tires so I would like to find 3 matching rims to make up the summer set WHYG

The card board was to test if it had any leaks - bone dry - I still cant believe my luck.....

Maybe dual mass flywheel is worn. That also could explain vibrations on idle.
What is engine code, cars year of manufacturing ?
I believe this engine has oil pump and balance shaft 6 mm hex key problem.
At next oil change remove the sump and turn it around so it starts to eat the other end, will give you some 100 000 miles.

BRE is prone to hex key failures.
77 mm hex key is used, can be bought on ebay for cheap.
Strongly recommended to swap it at next oil change or sooner.
Failure means damaged turbo at least if you are quick to notice oil pressure warning.

Balance shaft driven hex key gets rounded at oil pump side and stops spinning oil pump.
When symptoms (oil pressure warning) appears, its often too late, so don't wait for it.
It can be done, but will be really bad without lift, so give it to Indy, its not such a big job, but rather important.
Chirping sound you mentioned, if its flywheel, I wouldn't bother until it gets really bad, considering price.

cheers will get it booked into indy - the sump is not leaking - but would it be better to get a new sump gasket as well - also can the shaft just be reused back to front or is a new one recommended?

    Maybe Indy will have gasket/sealant.
New is recommended, but if you cant get one quick enough just turn the hex key around, with end entering the oil pump into balance shaft.
