    Hi Everyone

I have had a few mods done to my A6 allroad and one that im thinking about is to have the rear back boxes removed to give the car a better v6 sound more akin to the v6 petro .

has any one done this to there TDI and if so what did you find

    Thanks

    Steve

A word of warning, with changes to the MoT just around the corner, I would be very careful about removing any boxes from any car. Any DPF removed is now an instant failure, plus there are a whole heap of new exhaust checks. More details can be found https://www.gov.uk/government/news/m...es-20-may-2018

Yep was looking at that , thank you ....just thinking of the back boxes still keeping the DPF and center box also .
and looking to use MIJ in Walsal , have used them for all my exhaust work on my other Audis and also my old Vauxhall Omega 3.2 v6

I hear you can also pick up a few BHP's with the mod as the box,s are quite resistive

Retrofit the bitdi active sound back boxes and get the kufatec booster. Expensive option but will be totally original.

Biggest restriction on these is the turbo. My old golf gt tdi exhaust snapped just after the cat and it sounded like the exhaust was still there. Wasn’t any louder. Doubt you will get much extra noise from deleting the back box.

Yes I have done a few bits to the car like a remap and also fitting a DTUK pedal box which as been a great help , but still want to keep it nice and refined day to day as it the family car . but a but more v6 grunt at times would be good
