I’m getting the same code along with P2008. But the big difference is that mine loses power. When I start it and drive, all is well. As long as I don’t cut the engine off,no problem and all 233 horses running. But if I cut the engine off and restart it,often I have practically no power, like there is no turbo. I’m not a mechanic so no idea what an actuator is or where to find it. Since I have a lot of time (thank you lockdown),I’m gonna try to find and clean it as said above. If anybody got some tips,I’d be happy to hear them.
    Cheers.

I did. 😉 Sorry didn’t want to mingle in your thread. But I thought that’s what they preferred on a forum, instead of always starting a new thread, keeping as much info as possible in 1 thread. Anyway, sorry again. 🙏🏼

Bit of an old thread - I am going for the clean as suggested here, turbo is getting worse with the warm weather coming back.
After a bit of head scratching it was between silicon and Teflon grease - i opted for silicon as it will arrive sooner lol, but was thinking the Teflon may be better as it would not be as sticky?
    anyone any thoughts?

You should use neither, if Silicone or Teflon get into the exhaust gas stream, it will stick to the Lambda sensor and cat and could cause their failure.

Thanks crasher, I should have been more clear, I am only going to use it for the gears pictured in post#8, if the exhaust gets in there i think i may have bigger problems lol.

I'd go for something not sticky. GT85 spray is supposed to be better than wd40. Have sold the A5 now but had done 20k miles on that fix and was still going strong when sold. Came across a similar problem tho on my Mums car, so went straight to the turbo actuator.. low and behold, it was seized...

yeah might go for just a clean initially and see, WD40 is a cleaner not a lubricant.
I wouldn't leave them without lub long term. I have a can of dw4t in the garage it states it has lubricating properties.

edit, just thinking of Ed in an episode of "lets patch it up and throw it out", where he used graphite for the gears on a Porsche spoiler - it was dry so didn't stick or catch dirt.

So got at it yesterday I thought it would be old grease gone bad in there but it was bone dry. Gave it a squirt with dw4t and put back together. Time will tell not feeling confident, output tests are good, it does only happen when hot ie in rush hour traffic for a while or only parked for 5 or 10 minutes when up to temp. Could be the motor on its way out.

Update - did a bit of running around yesterday in and out of places 15 20 minutes at a time during rush hour. Normally i would have expected the turbo to shut down after the 2nd 10 minute stop but it didnt. looks like this is a... (cost free) fix. proper fix would be the acuator - but half an hour and a squirt of liquid lube vs £100s, gives us a chance to top up the funds to do it right next time round.
