so it started to play up again - this time worse when the car got hot the turbo switched off!!! Output tests cold all looked fine from 20 to 80%, when it got hot it was stuck at 9%..
so i wen in for another look. it appears i moved the big black gear when taking the cover off and this was fouling - so pshed it back home and all was well again -mine is different from the picture on page one - I have a bare shaft coming out of it.

Another update - sorry for popping this back up top all the time but i hope it will benefit someone having all the info. refer back to post #8 for a picture to better understand what i am going on about....
So it started playing up again FFS - just as well its not that hard to get to.
Same sot of thing so i thought this time I will glue the gear to the shaft - bad idea its an idle gear.
the shaft is 4mm thick - and it goes into a hole in the housing 7mm wide - so no room for a clamp. Solution - dont laugh - i cut the end off a raw plug to stop it from moving out and fouling with the drive gear on the motor. i used a bigger one that was left floating and cut it to length so that it would also spin if need be was the idea, other options would be a tight one to act as a stop, but this would then need lube itself? or, i was thinking of dry graphite grease in the edge of the gear that was fouling the other gear - Blame Ed in an episode of botch it up and ship it out (wheeler dealers).
Anyway i hope this is useful to someone.
As ever i will update if i need to go in again.

    Great post.
Resolved limp mode issue relating to the boost pressure sensor (P0235/00565) and actuator signal (P3348/13128) codes.

symptoms were the car would start from cold and run all day with no issues until it was switched off and then started again. Would then enter limp mode with the glow plug light flashing and then the solid engine warning light would also illuminate if driving continued. Once the car was left to cool overnight the issue would disappear until such time as the car was up to temp then switched off and on again. I was Nader the impression it was either a temp or vacuum issue until I saw the above thread and gave it a try. Remove the turbo to air box pipe, breather and a few wiring multi plugs to give yourself room and as a precaution to not damage any wiring. A fairly straight forward job although both the bottom two torx screws (T20) on the actuator cover are quite fiddly and be careful to remove the cover squarely so you do not damage the two internal terminals on the cover side. Well worth the 30-40 mins taken to complete the whole task.

once again, great post and many thanks.

If you're one is going wrong the only two things that can go wrong commonly are sticky veins on the turbo or a weak motor on the actuator... by greasing the gearing you are reducing the stress on the worn motor... replacing the motor is the easiest remidy if greasing don't work and the veins are ok.

Glad you got sorted, however mine eventually fully failed. When it does have a good garage up your sleeve that will swap out yet actuator only. I had loads wanted to remove turbo and send away, a few needed the old one working, but I did fond a garage that swapped it out no bother.
