    Hi,

Just thought I would pass on a little information!

Since I bought my present Passat Sport last year, it has had a tendency to make a growling vibration noise in the rev range 1300 to 1700 rpm.

The car was in the dealers this week and I mentioned the problem to them and they did not appear fazed by my request....

On returning the car, they recorded on the invoice a modification to the airbox tube mountings to prevent vibration! I personally think they know about the issue and have a ready remedy in the event anyone asks

All is peaceful now and I can hear Chris Moyles melodious voice even when negotiating roundabouts at low revs.

Not sure if I won't have them undo the mod

Top covers and intakes are a pain for this.

I've got exactly the same problem as well. I put it down to the exhaust gradually failing and was waiting for it to get worse before I need to fix it.
