    I have a 2.0TDI 170BHP quattro 2008 with a 6 speed manual.
The reason I start considering to change the oil is because when the car is cold the 1st gear is a bit stiff. I own the car since new so it has never been that way.
Any help will be much appreciated .
    Thanks
    Hi,

I would go with a straight 75W for your gearbox, particularly the sintofluid FE75W

    Pardon Our Interruption

You need a 75w-90 GL5 oil for the diff

    Pardon Our Interruption

The Millers CRX NT, Motul Gear 300, Red Line 75w-90NS, Amsoil Severe Gear and Gulf Competition are ideal as top end options. The Millers TRX Synthetic/EE Nanodrive, Mobil SHC, Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus and Valvoline Synpower TDL are good, but a step down from the top oils. Fuchs Gear Syn, Motul Motylgear, Millers TRX Semi and Castrol Universal are good, cheaper options.

Off the top of my head its around 3 litres for the gearbox and 1 litre for the differential.

    Regards

thanks all. I found somewhere that the quantity is 4.8l and this is what seems to be just right as it is Quattro. I am still digging to find the spec and yes not easy but I will speak with Audi official in a some time but it will be in the next few days. The car has only 85K on the clock but in the last year is not driven regularly, I mean sometimes has not been touch for a month.

Thanks for that, but after I was digging for the oil G055532a2 it comes under petrol engine car models. Could it be a difference as it is diesel and the gearboxes obviously differ? Thank you

    HI an thank you
I looked in the Millers web site and after selecting the vehicle they recommend TRX Synth 75w80 GL5
    Instead of 75W90

    Hi

75w-80 for the diff is a bit odd. 75w-80 for the gearbox is perhaps a bit more 'standard' but most people find that a 75w works better, especially from cold. By using something quality, like the Fuchs Sintofluid FE, the better quality of the fluid compared to standard stuff will still give plenty of protection.

    Cheers

Indeed , Fuchs Titan Sintofluid fe sae 75W ( G 052 171 ) will be the daddy as its lower in viscosity at low temps making cold shifts easier .

Yeah, it's very good stuff. My boss uses it in his Leon and I use it in my Volvo.

    Cheers
