Hi , sorry another noob question .
The key battery is low and I only have one key from the dealers at the moment .
I know there are YouTube videos on how to change the battery out but what happens if it is not recognised when done - is it easy to re-sync ?
When I bought the car the ignition wouldn’t start so the dealer put the key in a specific place but I couldn’t see where - can anyone explain where this is ?
Sorry for the dumb questions - I don’t want to get this wrong as I have no backup key .

I don't think you will have any problem to replace the battery, but if there will be any, then:

    - you can open your car with the manual key,
    - put your key a little left/upper (european model, probably it's on the right on the RWD cars) above the (A) "start/stop system" button where you will see the wawes and the key engraved to the dashboard.

And now you can start the ignition and the engine.

    Have a good luck

Thanks buddy , I was looking all over the steering stalk and dash and couldn’t see it for looking.
For anyone else that reads this in the future I quickly changed the battery and there were no reconnection issues . The battery was out for 30 secs max .
    Thanks again dude

    Hi,

I would try and get a spare from the dealer as it is a real issue if you lose the only one you have. The car should come with 2 main keys plus a plastic emergency keys. You should also check that the missing keys are removed from the MMI.

Will do Scott, it’s one of those supermarkets and apparently they have it but it went to the wrong branch . Apparently it’s on it’s way back and then on to me . Hopefully that’s the case .
    Thanks buddy
