Struggling to connect the my Audi app with the car?

Tried the PIN and username pw approach and apparently myAudi isn’t available?

How have you found this connection experience? Tricky or am I just unlucky

Hi Andy, I had problems connecting my A3 when I first got it in September. I was seeing the same message. I went back to the dealer and one of the salesmen tried changing different settings but I wasn’t convinced he knew what he was doing. I booked the car in for the service department to have a look at it, but tried again when I got home and it connected. I’m not sure if the salesman did anything or if, as I read elsewhere, Audi’s server was having problems. Sometimes when I try to retrieve a destination that I have set up in the app I get the message that I am not connected, then if I retry it works ok.
In answer to your question, it is not something that you are doing but a problem with the system at Audi’s end. I would suggest contacting your dealer to see if anyone there knows the system in case there is something in the settings that needs changing.
Once connected apart from the odd problem I described it should stay connected.
Hope you get it sorted soon as it is great when it works.

The MyAudi app is a complete disgrace IMHO and is a classic example of a great idea ruined but someone employing a team who didn't have the skillset to complete the job. It took me a very long time to get it working and even now it doesn't work that well... I Like the Napster integration and it was an illegal pain having to use the phone in the Lexus to change music so the audi approach was light years ahead. Sadly though I often drive for miles with the error "No wifi devices found" then eventually it asks "Please start the MMI app" (it's running..) then eventually is might connect and all start working. The other problem is once it's working you don't want to stop! I've left car running at garage before now as the MMI has just started working as I didn't want to spend 10 minutes faffing about trying to get it working again if I stop...

This is something I just don't get. I have my phone paired via Bluetooth, can play music and control it all from the MMI, but to connect the MMI app in have to connect via WiFi? And what does that get me, another way to stream music? I don't understand the point of it, what else does it get me?
