Approved Used Warranty

Hi all, just received an email saying my warranty is due to expire soon and would I like to buy extended. However, my car won't be 3 years old till next September.

Doesn't the remaining new car manufacturers warranty transfer to approve used?

I would have thought it did? One thing that comes to mind is Audi actually do a 2yr warranty and then the third year is up to 60k miles from new?

So does that mean from new if you clocked over 60k within two years then there is no third year and therefore as used approved is there no third year?

Not sure but I’m guessing someone here may have a better idea otherwise it’s a call to dealers

Sorry I am confused where is the 3yrs coming from, I thought it was 2 unless you bought the extended warranty. Have I been done buying a 5yr plan?

Audi standard warranty on new cars is 3yrs...

2yrs unlimited mileage & 3rd year upto 60k miles...

You can extend to 4 or 5 yrs where mileage becomes 75k & 90k respectively

I’ve always assumed that remained of standard warranty would be on used approved cars

Note: All info I post on this subject is UK specific.

60k is not relevant in my case, car has only done 25k. According to Audi's website, new cars come with a choice of 3/4/5

New Car Warranty - Audi UK

With the 3 year / 60k miles being free and all are transferable to new owners. I take this to mean that anyone here that has purchased Approved Used, should get all of the remaining new car warranty.

I will have to take this up with Audi, because there is no way I am paying for extended from Dec '17, when my car will not be 3 years old until Sep '18

Do that - and have a login to MyAudi and check what is says there. I just bought approved used 22 months old and it shows up correctly as the balance of the standard 3y warranty left for me, so slightly longer than the approved used 1y.

I just tried it and I can see it (don’t know about others here on forum?)... under the main section for your car on the web site there is a section called View Warranty. Under that mine says the following then the correct expiry date on the cars 3y anniversary.

“Audi Warranty

Your Audi is covered by an authorised network warranty. The warranty covers mechanical or electrical failure of all factory fitted components on your Audi.

You can contact your local Audi Centre or any member of the Audi authorised network, who will be able to carry out the necessary work free of charge. All warranty repairs are completed by Audi trained technicians using Audi genuine parts and specialist tools.”

Hope hat helps. Otherwise call the dealer?

There is also the same info confirming it’s a manufacturer warranty in the Audi UK app (red icon with rings in) if you set that up.

Spoken to Audi, apparently the approved used warranty is coming to an end, but car is still covered by manufactures warranty

Anyhow, I've been reassured all is good until next September.
