    Hi all,

Recently noticed that when shifting into 5th gear and bringing the clutch up, there is a whining noise. Fairly sure it disappears when the clutch is fully disengaged but will come back if I put the clutch down and bring it back up again. I've seen similar threads before but haven't been able to see one where the noise is only when bringing the clutch up.

Has anyone had this problem before?

    Cheers,
    Danny.

I would check alignment of gearstick rods at gearbox

in neutral, the gear stick should sit between 2nd and 3rd

    check out youtube .

    Then report back
    VW POLO 2002 1.2 12v , Audi A6 2006 2.0 TDi SE , Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi

All 3 cars in the current fleet

    Hi Niall,

Thanks for your response. I have now noticed that it is in 5th gear no matter where the clutch is, the noise is especially noticeable when slowing down in 5th gear. Is going in to the garage next week for other problems so will mention your suggestion, thanks for that!

    Cheers,
    Danny.
