    Hi

    Can someone advise me on how to remove the inner drive shaft on a golf MK3 1996 1.4 5 speed. I have an oil leak from the inner side of this inner shaft. we have removed the main drive shaft and old cars I have worked on had a large bolt in the middle of the inner shaft this one has not got one can you help
    Do I need a puller to do this job as ther is not a bolt on this vehicle

    Like every other job on vw there are spesial tools for everything.u remove the sealing cap in the senter of the flange,behind this there is a securing ring.Get a long leaver and press the flange towards gearbox,this takes the pressure of the flange because there is a heavy duty spring between it and the diff, hopefully u will be able to remove the securing ring good luck
