    Hi Folks,

Just joined the forum. I have a 2005 Passat TDi130 Highline Estate. One of the amazing deals VAG was doing when the new Passat Estate launch was delayed, remember?

Probably the best car I've had, after many years of Saabs - 6 in total.

Currently fitting a new towbar and pondering whether to fit the official VAG plug-in electric kit. About £90 Ouch!

    Great Forum

Hello and Welcome to the forum!

Have a look in our "HOW TO" guides area for info on Towbars..

The Guide is for a Golf... however if you drop the question into the chat about anything section im sure Ben will be able to give you some advice.. (he spents hours and hours looking for the right one for him!!)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I bought the "official wiring loom" from ebay, (well it came with the towbar, £40, bargain) and it made the fitting of the electrics a breeze.

They just plug in behind the light clusters. It does need a seperate earth (which i took from the light mounting bolt) and a live. Many people have a cigarette lighter in the boot that they just splice into.... I don't so took a feed direct from the battery.

    Good luck

    Thanks Nick,

Got a Witter removable towbat from ebay for a song so felt flush enough to get the official VW loom kit as I hate scotchloks. Appreciate the advice.
