Weird RNS 510 problem.

I have the code, but never get so far to put code to radio. When i plug the quadlock to unit, just the fan behind the unit starts. but when the unit putted back to transporter where its originally from, starts just by pushing volume button.

Just wondering why it works on transporter, but not on my passat. Cause i have tried another RNS to passat, and it works as it should. Weird.

You sure the seller isn't trying to scam you and can actually prove that in the video he sent you he is using the exact same unit and not another working one?

Pretty sure it the same unit. First on video he film the newspaper, that was same date when courier gave the unit back to him. Also on top of unit were same tapes and code.

Weird, wondering if Digital Radio needs enabling on your car then mate.
That can be done via VCDS, could do it for you but as far as I understand you are from Finland so...

Why didnt 1T0 035 680 P RNS510 needed any coding, well it needed PIN obv. But nothing else.

I have VCDS, but couldnt reach the radio nor navigation with it. Confusing. Maybe better to give it to someone who has any intresses to solve this shiet.

Can you reach radio module via VCDS with the old unit plugged in?

Yes i can. Called to vw dealer yesterday, they said: "unit just nit work on your passat".

How clear answer is that?!?

There might be multiple reasons here mate. But VW definitely haven't provided a good enough answer
The RNS510 that you are connecting has a newer firmware version of some sort which is not compatible with your canbus.
The new unit is from a newer car which could mean it has upgraded hardware as well as hardware firmware (they have Software Firmware (SW) and Hardware Firmware (HW))

Some of the newer hardware components might not simply be compatible with your ecu or any other component in your car.

I understand that above is not helping but at least it explains possible reasons.
If you have access to another RNS510 then compare their SW and HW and see if they are different, if they are then it might somehow be related to that.
You can then also try to reflash the firmware to a lower version perhaps (if possible at all) and hope that it will fix your problem.
