My batterys seem to be going flat in my 2 button key fob.

i have the batterys, cr 1620's, is it safe to change these myself? meaning it will not affect the immobiliser on the car? or any other nasty unwanteds that can popup?

    cheers

I have '99 B5 A4 and had to change the batteries in one of the key-fobs a while back. If memory serves, there's a procedure that has to be followed to re-sync the key, something along the lines of locking / unlocking the car manually within a minute of pressing the remote control - the user manual had all the details. Hope this helps...
