My alarm has decided it wants to keep going off every few days, so before I take it in to the dealers, who will say come back in 3 weeks when we can fit you in, which module do I scan with VCDS to establish what is triggering the alarm?

    thanks

PS - to add I don't appear to have any related fault codes after a quick scan

PPS - Would Audi Assist be worth a call out on this as car is only 3 months old, so shouldn't be doing stuff like this!

    Two things worth checking

    1. Are all the windows/sunroof fully closed? An open window can cause the alarm to go off. If they are also worth seeing if it is better closing all the air vents. Not a long term solution but would identify an oversensitive sensor in the car.
    2. Try disabling the internal motion sensor (button on drivers door) and see if that stops it. If it does would indicate a faulty or oversensitive motion sensor

Not sure Audi Assist would see it as something that necessitated them coming out to you as the car is still perfectly drivable

I have turned off the interior sensor, but it went off again this morning. Its intermittent, being doing it for 3 weeks, every few days or so. If I can scan with VCDS to find which sensor is triggering, that should help identify possible causes, just need to know where to look.

You haven't fitted a dash cam have you? If you have is it hard wired with piggyback fuse?
My thoughts are it could be causing a drain and computer picks this up and sounds alarm thinking someone is trying to hack it

Had a similar problem on my RS6 last year when just a few months old. Difference with the OP in my case was by turning off the internal ultra-sonics, no alarm was triggered. Spraying a liberal dose of fly killer did not clear the problem. A visit to the supplying Audi dealer could not locate any issue.

Based on advice from a very knowledgeable tech contact at Autowatch, I contacted the Tracker company and suggested it could be a noisy GSM engine. They eventually replaced the unit and bingo, no more probs.

Many months later, my alarm did go off once but the discovery of a small spider web near the rearmost side window indicated another dose of fly-killer was needed. No recurrence since then.

    hope this helps

Great, thanks will take a look.

I don't have a dash cam, but do have a Road Angel, this is either wired into an ignition live fuse, or at present to the 12v accessory socket, again ignition live, so shouldn't be draining any battery to trigger, and this was installed the day I got the car, and has only just started (2 months later) to be an issue.

OK, nothing in 09 Central electrics controller, scrolled through all 254 memory blocks, but in 46 Central Convenience which allows coding of alarm, so makes sense to be in here, there are MB's 21 to 24 which give times and dates which look like what I need to be focusing on, but nor sure what Count 12 means. There were 4 entries like this, all Count 12. The times I vaguely recall as when the alarm sounded, but not 100%.

A similar fault occurred on an A5 I used to own. It turned out that the component which automatically shut down the airflow into the cabin when it sensed pollution had stuck open, draining the battery. It took ages for Audi to find it, but once that part had been replaced, it was back to normal. Is your battery maintaining its charge? Just a thought.
