    HI

I have exactly the same problem. I've taken the board out, cleaned it and found a corroded point in the same place as yours.
But i do not know how to fix it ie where to solder, can i just put a small blob where the corroded point is ??

Where can I find the PCB / location of the module?

I post this for whom who experience difficulties removing the INTERIOR DOME LIGHT SWITCH.
Many thanks to Crafter2012 for this small manual.

There are two fixed clips on the left and two spring clips on the right (looking up), nothing front and back.
Insert a thin blade to depress the clips while pushing the unit to the left. Mine virtually fell out as the headlining has been weakened - I don't think it was the first time the unit had been removed.
Go careful - if the headlining gets deformed the clips won't hold firmly and the unit will fall on your head when your driving!

Be sure to check continuity from one side of the board to the other. I found it a bit 'hit and miss' until I soldered a strand of copper wire through the board.

If you don't have a live feed to any of the bulb holders, I would think that the fault was 'common' and therefore near the input plug - like mine.

    Hope it works out.

    hi everyone

has anyone got any photos of the repair that you have done as mine got water damaged but ihave taken out the circuit board and given it a clean cant see any broken or burnt out sections including the holes in the highlighted circle they are hollow should o just solder them up as there dosent seem to be any residue of previouse solder ther but all 4 of the lights have no positive

any further help would be amazing

    thanks in advance

Crafter - Interior Light Module - Circuit Board.jpg

    Hi Malc.

I just tested the continuity between the contacts.

If you follow the circuit, testing as you go (and both sides) starting at the input plug, I'm sure you'll come across a break. If you find that there is a fault from one side of the board to the other, put a strand of copper as thick as you can get through the hole and solder it both sides.

    Good luck.

Thanks to this thread I pulled my light down and found water stains, cleaned up and soldered a few holes to allow signal to pass through the board.

    Still not working
The live feed going into the board is also at every bulb holder (tested with the ground on the input plug), & every bulb is fine (tested off the board), but no response to light button press, and the alarm is non-functioning.

Door open sensing is working (buzzer on dash if opened whilst moving) for every door.

The live feed gets to the bulbs fairly directly after getting onto the board, but I think I'm correct I saying the ground side has the bulk of the electronics. Perhaps these are fried, but I dont want to replace the overhead circuit board if its just a signal from another ECU that isn't getting through...

Looks like I'm going to have to pull the van apart, checking cabling, the ECUs and boxes under the seat, with Mercedes wiring diagrams for reference...

    Unless anyone has any suggestions?

Anyone know if you need Mercedes software to read the status of the Daimler bits (like this overhead "comfort illumination"/alarm box, or if VAGCOM or an alternative software can see the Merc modules ? I wonder if VW technicians can read this stuff via ODIS or they have to have a Mercedes ( STAR ?) system in their workshops too!?

Hi, big thanks to the OP. I had the same issue. Cleaned up with contact cleaner, didn't work, so put a link (copper wire) between the hole marked in the image in this thread and the incoming feed. (After establishing no continuity between incoming live feed and the hole). Put it all back together and it now functions.

Saving me a whopping £200-£250 going by current well known auction site prices.

    Really happy
