    Hi all,
I've got the classic intake flapper motor/sensor issue. The dealer's solution is a whole new inlet manifold, and of course re-sealing injectors, and a load of labour hours.
I've picked up a new flapper motor for good measure, but my error codes are follows:

012691 - intake manifold runner control
P3193 - 002 Open stop outside fo valid range

004248 - Intake Manifold tuning valve position sensor (G336)
    P1098 - 001 - Open or short to Plus

012600 - Intake Manifold Runner Control
    P3138 - 008 - Regulation Deviation

It's all looking like the position sensor, rather than the motor, which I gather is a separate unit, and part of the inlet manifold. I've not installed the new motor yet, as I don't want a dodgy position sensor try to make the motor move beyond its capabilities.

Is it possible to get hold of the position sensor by itself and replace, or am I going to need to get the whole new inlet manifold and take a pounding from the local VAG dealership?

It's the older 200HP TFSI engine. 8ED model.

    Thanks in advance.

In case someone else gets this, I ended up swapping out the motor, clering error codes, and running the initial setup, and this has fixed the issue. No more hesitation/misfire feel at around 2000RPM, and especially when cold.
Looks like better fuel economy when driving modestly, too.
