    Hi Guys,

I am the happy new owner (and fairly new driver) of a usedmk5 1.9 TDI. Unfortunately, I quickly noticed that there were a series of an electrical malfunction. Complete list below:
    • Cigarette lighter
    • Fresh air blower
    • Front washer sprayer
    • Rear wiper
    • Rear washer sprayer

After some research (thanks Google), it seemed clear that it was related to a relay, more precisely the 460. I ordered a new one, then battled for almost an hour to reach the relay and replace it. It hadn’t solved anything . The relay was actually fine.

Can you guys point me out to any other potential solution/explanation before I bring the car to VAG??

    Hello, technical experts!!

I am coming back, determined to solve this issue!

For sure, my relays work. I can hear and feel the click when I turn the ignition. I've even inverted relays of positions B1 and B9. They both work.
I checked with a multimeter and I noticed that there was no power on positions 40 and 41 (see fuses diagram here:Volkswagen Golf Mk5 fuse box diagram (1K; 2003–2009) » Fuse Diagram).

Any idea on what I could do next?

I assume youve double checked all the fuses? Other than that get a vcds scan.

As mentioned above, a diagnostic scan would help a great deal. as you have already changed the relay, the fault could possibly be in the central electrics module itself.

X relay failure (KL75) is a common issue but it is sometimes caused by failure of the ignition switch, have you have a full code scan carried out as a faulty switch normally comes up as a fault. 460 is the relay control group number. I can't help further than that from home as my ELSA PC is at work.

    Thanks all!

The central electric module is indeed a good trail to follow. Same thing for the ignition switch but in that case, I have no idea how to approach the issue.
I'll find a way to do a scan ASAP (I don't have the cable, but I have asked if someone located in East London may help on that).
