Fob has decided to stop working completely, changed battery to no avail. Tried to re-programme as per manual but won't have it. Any suggestions?

Spare key is off to Audi today to be coded, will see if this fob works later. Meanwhile I'm back to using the key, etc

Mine did the same and I searched the internet and found this on another forum
-if the vehicle is locked, use the key to unlock the door
-press the unlock button on the remote control
-insert the key into the ignition and switch on the ignition
-switch off the ignition and remove key
-press the unlock or lock button.
    it should now be re-synchronised

It claimed to be from the manual but I never checked so it may be something you've already tried.
I did the above with both my fobs after changing the batteries and it worked for me - both work perfectly now.

I know this thread is a bit old now, but thought I'd post anyway!

Exactly the same has happened to me (2006 18T cab). Had a roof warning light at the same time and local indie reckoned it was a failing roof sensor causing the locking to malfunction.

Roof light has cleared following a reset of the fault codes, so I guess he was wrong. It's due back in on Wednesday - here's hoping.....
