If my memory serves me right, there is a flexible cable from the back of the rotating key cylinder which engages into the door lock mechanism. It's possible it's slipped out of position as it's only a push fit. Unfortunately, to get at it you will need to take the door card off and also the window and winder mechanism. Some good guides on YouTube!

    I thought the same myself,
But removed the lock mechanism complete as i thought maybe a lock mechanism problem,
& plugged into the harness & used a flat screwdriver to turn the (key piece) & still the same lock only locks the drivers door only (mechanically) unlock unlocks all doors with central locking,
So im still scratching my head at the moment,
I have checked coding with vcds & all is good

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant it wasn't locking the driver's door. I've got three suggestions:

    1. Corroded terminals in the door terminal plug/socket (that was my problem)
    2. Broken wire in the door harness - usually where it bends as the door is opened.
    3. Faulty microswitch in the actuator unit. This unit can be opened up and the switch cleaned or replaced. The switch detects when you turn the key clockwise, I think there is another switch for counter-clockwise.

I'd look for them in the order above - easiest first!

Good luck. I might have an old drivers door lock in my scrap pile if I haven't thrown it. I'll check when I get home as there might be some useful bits in it or I can take photos
