    a6 module.jpgHi my bluetooth module is water damaged, it is with a chap who can repair it but we can't identify what the burnt out chip/component is?, does anybody on here know what it might be?, It is the blackened chip in the top left of the picture.

    is it just a de-coupling cap?
    do you need some of this?

    Is it a de-coupling cap?, I don't know, that's why I am asking. I don't get the reference to a jar of smoke.......lost on me sorry

    Its a small cap to take noise off a line.
    Electronics is all about keeping the smoke in, in this case it seems to have got out...

    That BT module is junk, I've never seen one successfully repaired and it won't just be the one chip that is damaged. They go on ebay for around £100 and the A6, A8 & Q7 MMI 2G units are all the same.

    Yeah it was junk, cut my losses and bought another one, fitted it and tried to get it coded in but keep getting, 77-Telephone -- Status: Sporadic communication error 1000 and can't connect a phone, if anyone has any ideas?
