can any one advise me please

i have a 2010 vw touran 1600 diesel . i got it back in november last year . all is going well but the dpf regeneration is being a bit of a pain .

i know its not the best car short trips but at the minute thats what the car is used for - it will do a regen about every 300 miles . it does not matter if i do long motor way trips or short trips its every 300 miles .

i do not have a light come on the dash or have loss of power - when its asking for a regen the revs will sit just above 1000 rpm and the exhaust fumes stink in the car - if i go down a few junctions of the motor and follow the above 50 mph and between 2000 and 2500 rpm it sorts it out for another 300 miles .

is this right ? i do not want to take the dpf out of the system so any help or advise would be much appreciated .

thank you all in advance - darren .
