There are three different 1.4 16v engines you could have, AHW, AKQ or APE with two distinctly different engine management systems, Marelli on the AHW and AKQ and Bosch on the APE but the AHW is the one prone to problems. I would suspect that the throttle cable has been set too tight to try and hold the idle up to stop it stalling so what I would do is remove and clean the throttle body and then set the cable so it was slack, just tight enough to fully open the butterfly with the accelerator floored. Then the ECU's learnt values need to be erased in Adaptation 00 and after that, the TB synchronized to the ECU in Basic Settings 098. Ignore the other code, the AHW does that.

Just collected it last night, didn't know much on it. Marelli rings a bell from auto scan, I guess I should have posted the results in full. Thanks again for the help, I'll post results over weekend

Removed and cleaned the TB, couldnt find any wd40 or plus gas, so used petrol... Left it abit before refitting lol

There was alot of mayo gunk going into the top of the air box, are these known for having breather issues? It doesnt get used much. 10 miles trip to work and back each day

Then the ECU's learnt values need to be erased in Adaptation 00 and after that, the TB synchronized to the ECU in Basic Settings 098
All these options are in the engine module of vcds lite? i remember seeng basic settings but not adaptation( bare with me mate, still getting used to vcds )

cleaned tb and refitted, everything connected as it was..

removed throttle cable circlip, used a pole to hold accelerator down, pulled the cabLE back just to the point were throttle body butterfly was open, though can open it alittle more by hand..

heres a vid off the vcds process, getting error in the adaptation field, also now getting basic setting not complete fault code, the engine refuses to idle and cuts out

The throttle isn't closed, you can see this in the measuring block where is says "part throttle", disconnect the cable completely. At WOT the butterfly just needs to hit 180 degrees, the cable should not be like a guitar string! When you have closed throttle showing in Basic Settings 098, click go and wait for "ADP OK" then wait 30 seconds and ignition off for 30 seconds.
