Hi,

After some advice on the above model car. Any known issues with the engine? I'm in the process of getting service history. The car was originally imported from the UK, presently in NZ. It has 108000kms. Anything additional to the obvious that service history may not reveal. It is 6speed manual. Thanks very much.

With such a low mileage, you should have a good one.
Check cam belt change which should have been done by now, and whatever has been done till now, change the oil and filter every 10,000
miles using "Longlife" oil and she should run and run.

Only problems I've had with an A4 143 TDi in the last 100,000 miles apart from normal service parts have been rear springs, egr valve, throttle body valve, glow plugs, door control module, front brake caliper and ignition key holder in dashboard.
Cars OK but no way near as well built, reliable or economical as my old B6 tdi which was still going strong at 250,000 miles when I sold it.

Also had to replace the door lock in the drivers door at about 80,000 miles

Oh, and the clutch was replaced under warranty at about 30,000 miles. Come to think of it, it's not been very reliable after all!
