    Hi guys i have had a intermittent fault with my indicators when i indicate to go one way all the indicators lights come on very annoying for me and other road users i have changed the hazard switch checked the connections on all of the indicator lamp areas the fault comes and goes it disappeared for about four months but now its happening a lot more regular
    If anybody knows were the common earths are on the car it would be a great help
    Plus i am open to any advice you guys have

    On a 90 20v there are a bunch of earth wires on the bodywork near the bonnet release handle/ under the dash. I guess they would still be there on a B4 tdi?
    I would have suspected the switch/stalk, have you tried contact cleaner spray?

    Yeah the stalk was one of my other avenues as my friends mk2 golf had problems with his lights not coming on turned out to be the stalk switch contacts been dirty

    Is there water getting in anywhere, from my own experience i can tell you that if moisture gets to the cable i can cause the indicators to flash intermittently, and even cause the brake light to pulse a little...

    Alternatively the problem could lie with the relay
