three beeps, windows?

I'm so glad this forum exists. It's my first time posting, but i anticipate using this all the time.

So, I have a 98 Jetta GL, it has just over 138K miles on it. It has started beeping three times when i turn it on or off, and periodically when I'm driving. I've also noticed that occasionally the windows will go down after i turn the ignition off as well, all on their own. I checked the simple things, but I'm definitely not a mechanic and I'm pretty lost under the hood.

If anyone has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. THANKS

The three beeps is something with the cars factory security/alarm I think. I had similar problems but without power windows. My problems were the wires that bend every time you open and close the door. How I fixed it was by opening the door pulling back the rubber boot and insulating the cracked wires with electrical tape and putting the broken ones back together.
