New poster, please be gentle. I have done a search but cannot find the answer to this question on here or the biodiesel forums.

I have a 1997 1.9TDI saloon 110hp. I understand that cars with the PD (something deuze) cannot use Biodiesel as it wrecks the pump. Is my vehicle likely to be PD or not.

    Thanks in anticipation!

Probably BioD ok on a '97.

    Check out your ex-factory spec:

Read up that your car is ok on BioD from Audi Website (Page 68, chapter 4.7):

If its the AFN engine code (like mine), then the manual says it will run on biodiesel conforming to a DIN spec (sorry, haven't got the details in front of me). The manual also extols the virtues of said biodiesel by claiming excellent low temperature performance (down to -15 deg C).

If your car is the 110 bhp it is not a PD enginge, and has the VE type pump system.

    I thought PD wasn't available before 1999?
