I have noticed that the automatic activation of the front parking sensors seems to be quite "hit and miss". I feel like it used to be more reliable, but being my wife's car, this could be a false memory on my part.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

I have tried deactivating and reactivating in MMI, but it didn't make any difference.

Hmmm can't say I've noticed but will keep an eye out. The thing for me is that I think the sensors are too sensitive as in they just bleep away for no reason when I could be at traffic lights and a bus pulls up next to me the sensors start beeping.

I have definitely noticed that as well and hit the button to turn it off when it does. I was actually wondering if it modifies its behaviour based on the number of times you turn the sensors off... I am probably over thinking it though.

I mostly notice that it doesn't activate when pulling into my drive, but I am now wondering if it needs a to be in first gear to activate automatically and it may be the case that it holds 2nd gear as I pull in, even though I come to a complete stop before moving on to the driveway. I will pay attention to the gear selection next time.

I think I saw something about the speed you're going needs to be under x miles an hour? My guess would be 6mph / 10kph.

Mine comes on all the time when I park at home. It's a fairly narrow side road and I back into the drive and when I swing to the right and come to a stop before reversing the bleeper goes off and the MMI shows the car with the red lines indicating where the object is.

Every now and again my front RHS parking sensor thinks it's very close to something and it beeps, this can be while driving normally with nothing close ahead. Anyone else had this issue?

Yes get it frequently on both sides front and rear...think it's the extra park assist sensors on the sides of the bumpers which see mystics things - a lot like the presense sensors
