I noticed this happen a few times over the last couple of months and I just put it down to wet roads and me being a little heavy on the gas but recently it's happening more and more. When I pull away the car always seems to encounter wheel hop even under very gentle acceleration. The car is due a new set of tyres so I'm going to start there and see if it helps but does anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be ? It's getting rather annoying now as I'm having to wait far longer for a big gap in traffic to appear as if I try and move off with anything other than the lightest of touches on the accelerator the wheels hop and I look like an idiot. As much as I love the DSG gearbox in lots of situations this is making me think I should of gone for a manual.

go for rain tyres, they will wear down faster but give good grip

If you go on say asdatyres.com , then you will see there are 3 Ratings , fuel, wet and noise

please note that it is up to each tyre company to self regulate how good the tyres are.

I just put on B or C Rated wet tyres , usually the cheap ones are just as good as dear ones in my humble opinion .......................... but that's up for a heated discussion !!!!!!!!
