audi a4 speaker setup

hi all have a 2001 audi. the speakers dont say bose on them.

one or 2 of the speakers fart a bit. even though the stereos decent compared to other standards ive had in the past i think it needs upgrading

as regards the adaptors that are fitted. can you fit other speakers to them. online it shows fronts as 5 1/4 and rears as 6.5 inch. the sub as 8 inch is this correct?

what are my options. i have already replaced the head unit and can fit an amp afterwards if i dont think its good enough

easy enough job, just remove the door cards and they unscrew. you can fit whatever speakers you want of the right size, although you may find most speaker will need a little bit of fettling to fit. easier to take them out and go shopping with them in hand to match something up.

thanks all. can you put the speakers back into the pods there set in or do i need some new ones.

what are the sizes 6 1/2 and 5 1/4? has anyone changed speakers with the current setup amp etc. what about the sub does it need to be a shallow fit

finally brought some speakers and fitted them

door panels were easy enough to come off. the units the speakers are in were sealed . cut the old speakers out and mounted the new ones. bypassed the wiring and modified it through a hole i made

havent fitted the tweeters yet.

the front speakers were actually 6 1/2 inch which really annoyed me as i brought small ones. they were alot harder to fit. one seems to fart under load so need to see if its the channel in the stereo or the actual stereo

fitted the aerial adaptor. its better but still rubbish
