i think i need new injectors, 3.0tdi, german ebay set?

Got the white smoke on idle after tickover for 20 minutes

Oil level has risen a bit in 10000 miles

sooooooooo, bad news

123,000 miles and looking for a new set of injectors

these look cheap

I had the same problem and finally I changed all six of the injectors. My engine is the ASB and I went for the newer revision ones from BMK. I bought them from eBay Germany too, more info here.
After 20k working great and had no issues passing MOT.

OP with an 09 will have the newer injectors.

I got a used set from ebay.de and they have been fine, paid £500 for the 6.

Have had a bit of a delay...

got a VCDS done for measuring blocks 72 -77 as I have seen this is how to check them

results:

72 -42.0 ms, -20.0 ms, -12.0 ms
73 -46.0 ms, -6.0 ms, -2.0 ms
74 -44.0 ms, -14.0 ms, -2.0 ms
75 -36.0 ms, -8.0 ms, -4.0 ms
76 -52.0 ms, -12.0 ms, -8.0 ms
77 -56.0 ms, -20.0 ms, -14.0 ms

Now going to look around for what they should be ....

had rising oil level so sucked some out very rapidly !

OK found the thread I was looking for ....



Read the measured value blocks 72 - 77.

3 values per measured value block appear there (for 300 bar, 600 bar, 1000 bar).

Should the values be higher than minus -45 ms (example - 60ms) or

on digit 2 be

higher than minus -15 ms (e.g. 20ms),

the needle attachment is worn and the injector is incorrect. To avoid repeat repairs, replace all 6 injectors.

Conclusion, as I suspected, is to replace injectors.... but worth checking

Also need glow plug, here's the VCDS output. I kind of knew that already, but which ones do I order ? There are a couple of different types and I dont think this VCDS gives me a part number...
