    Hi
I have an Audi Coupe H reg 2000E 8V and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
My Audi past its MOT but on the way home it decided to self destruct ie smoke coming from the dash - result a dead car. (Result of a leaky screen drivers side)
A so called Local Auto Electrician confidently told me he could fix it. To cut a long story short he made a complete mess of the job and now I am stuck well and truly with wires hanging out beneath the Drivers side and have not got a clue how to over come this problem but am determined to fix it as the Audi is worth saving.
Here goes. The fuse board in the Engine compartment was changed but the Relays were taken out but I have no idea which one goes where ie which position on the board.
These are the relays I have 213,214,272,229,292,215,285309,76, plus 2 taller black relays with no numbers on them.
Can any one tell me what each one does and what position it goes on the Fuse board (I know there is an Auxilliary one under the Drivers glove box as well)
Also coming from the Immobillizer (underneath the Steering there is a black wire with No 4 on it going no where (any ideas where this is connected to?

At the moment when I turn on the Ignition the computer beeps once then 3 times the screen flashes a petrol sign then a oil sign which stays on (have checked the oil and it is up to the correct level. The car turns over but am getting no spark to the Plugs.
The car used to start and run with absolutely no problems, I only have one Ignition key.
I would really appreciate any and all advice on how to solve this problem.
Finally I have been looking on the Audi forum but have not found anything that might help with my problem.

Any and all advice would be really appreciated.

Can you do a list of all those with the VW part number off each one at the side?

    Hi Crasher

At the moment I havent got the Relays as they are on order but as soon as I get them I will post the part numbers. It will probably be about 5th / 6th October before I can reply to you.

Hope you or anyone else can help.

I had an intermittent cutting out problem and the occasional beep/oilcan symbol coming up on the autocheck. Like yours, there was no problem with the oil. Mine turned out to be an earth wire breaking off at the back of the connector.
This was on my 20v, the earth was at the back of the inlet manifold.

    Hi Crasher
The relays have at last arrived, am not sure if I have them all but here is a detailed list of what I have and all the relevant numbers on them.

    214
    89 9512
    443 951 253K
    ......................
    215
    89 9521 SHO
    443 951 253L
Slot for fuse on top of relay
    .......................................
    213
    89 9511
    70A 12V SHO
    443 951 253 J
    .....................
    229
    SME 12V
    431955 531
SIEMENS SWK 1 637 (17007 In White letters on side)
    .................................................. ...........................
    292
    Hella 12V
    35B
    004 885 02
    443 951 307B
    .....................
    236
    EAP EO 605
    443 955 532A
    2RL 12- (719 34 In white letters on side)
    .................................................. ........
    76
    443927 826
    89 71 44
    SHO 12V 16A
    10 Amp fuse on top
    ............................
    285
Large black relay with no number
    7543 2189
    ..................................................
Small black relay with no number
    Hella LKE 12V K13
    SKG 004 079-01
    4439 19 469
    12V 55W
    ............

These relays weresent as a set apparently but there may be realys missing but am not sure.

If you can identify what each one is for and what position they go on the fusebox either in the Engine compartment or under the Drivers side glove box it would be really helpfull.

Also am still trying to figure out what the Number 4 wire goes to from the immobillizer?

    Best regards
    doodbrie

Thanks for your advice so far.
