hi all , i have a 2006 b7 cabrio with xenon head lights , new bulbs have been fitted but driving down the road on main beam the lights flick from maim beam possibly back down to dip but not sure , the flicker up and down so much main beam is unusable and seems to be both near side but mostly off side . I think the reflectors are flicking up and down but cant tell from in the car .
Any ideas as what the issue could be or possible fix ?? thanks for any help

I`ve not had bulbs out on these, but it does seem plausible for the reflector to be disconnected from its mount. Sometimes its just a case of popping it back on.

right ive had a look at the head lamps again and with the car being driven towards me on high beam , the drivers side light is going onto dip then back to main , i dont think its a loose reflector as when on main beem its nice and steady and dont seem to vibrate or flicker . it just drops to dip and back again , any more ideas as to why its switching from one to the other !

Probably the headlight control unit but get a global scan done first to see if anything is stored in the fault code memory. You could try swapping the controller from one light to the other to see if the problem moves before spending £440 on a new controller but that means taking the bumper off twice. Does your car have the PR-8EC system lights (see your data sticker) as in mid 2007 these were changed in design due to an internal problem.

    HI Crasher.
Please can you help? I have a fault with the xenon headlamp auto levelling module. I have a replacement but do not know where it's situated.
Apologies to OP for hijacking thread.
