If he changed the tandem pump that will probably be the end of the problem.

I'll ask and see what he says. In the meantime, regarding the lights, I'll throw that one back at the mechanic. Nothing else I can do, as I don't have the money to buy a VAG-COM from ross-tech, especially with the money this repair has eaten up. That and the fact Christmas is coming up. Although I'm convinced it's unrelated now, as I've read through some articles on here where limp mode has went on or there's been some change in the performance, MPG or something or other. Our car simply doesn't perform any differently, plus the light is intermittent. I'm suspecting an evasive fault anyway, as the last time these lights came on before the last runaway problem the errors were probably accurate. Plugs were showing low voltage (plugs 3 and 4) and now all four are showing voltage 14.4 but coming back with an error. Plus, injector was showing faulty but since that has been cleaned I've had no errors coming back that either. Is it possible that with so many faults showing it's the wiring loom?

Unfortunately, what I previously posted is all I have. I'm using the 12.12.3 version of VAG-COM with a dongle from amazon. I've no opportunity to use anything else, the mechanic is using a Bosch wireless scanner with some professional program that probably costs a fortune.

And all the other faults too, not sure about them, if they're real, or caused by the other faults.

The rest is Engine Control Module, what could this be? seems be giving everything no signal or intermittent signal.

Have a new V157 and 4 new glow plugs fitted, then see how it goes.

If mechanic is using a generic scanner then he's either not a VAG-trained mechanic, which you should be employing, or using the wrong kit.
The kit is either VAS the VAG Group proper scanner that also speaks to the VW mothership for retrieval of car records and update flashes.
Or the appropriate version of the real VCDS -- not as expensive as some think -- £200-odd from Gendan inc.

VAG Group cars use not only the generic "P" codes but also sub-sets of them that tie in with the Ross-Tech Wiki and give more detailed fault finding hints.
    Ross-Tech Wiki
The VCDS public forum (on VW Vortex), their private forum, and email reply service are worth the outlay in itself!

Oh, BTW no commercial interest here. Just a satisfied customer who saved hundreds when, a few years ago, got told how to handle a dealer over a warranty claim
