    Hi.

I have had a used replacement engine put in my FSI 1.6 auto.

I haven't driven it much since. Anyway, today when I started, foot on brake to move selector from park and there is immediately a little clunk and I can feel it through the gear selector every time I press the brake and again when I release, same when in neutral but not between gears. If it was there before the replacement, its much more noticeable now. The old engine was replaced, not the transmission and I had the timing chain done at the same time. I paid enough for it all, but I'm paranoid its a dud

    I know little about engines.

So, should I be worried? Is it a sign of something not aligned properly/faulty etc or is it just cosmetic?

Thanks in advance for any heads-up you can give.

    Cheers

I started noticing this in my 1.9 TDI after I had a DSG service, as in a little click/if your hand is on the gear selector when depressing, or more noticeable when releasing the brake. It was annoying at first but have got used to it now. No issues or changes 15,000km later.
