Audi A6 C6 Avant 2009 Is my MPG ok

I am the new owner of a Audi A6 C6 Avant s line on a 59 plate. It has a 2.0 TDI E engine and has done 111500 miles.
I have had the car for just over a month. Can anyone tell me what sort of MPG i should be getting.
I mainly use it to work which is just over 10 miles and is on country roads which at times the car is asking me to use sixth gear. At the moment my daily MPG is around 38, is this bad?.

Over 10 miles yes this is fine. It's not long enough for the car to reach optimum operating temperature so MPG will suffer somewhat, especially more in the winter months.

What sort of MPG should my vehicle be returning on a journey well over 10 miles?

Manual or Automatic?

Fill the tank up and drive to john-o'groats at 2am, fill up when you arrive and work out your MPG, which will be the best you can get

Don't use the DIS but with brim to brim fills.

My past 09 170 avant was similar to your mpg, on a long run it got just into early 50. It all depends on many factors. I wouldnt worry.

38 is normal for your trip, on a long motorway expect 50+ on the trip computer in the summer when air pressure is greater during the winter 45 to 50.
