coolant temp being irratic will definatly not help your situation, probably a new sensor required there, as for your other faults, when throttle bodys are fitted they need to have there basic setting adapted usually by the vw diagnostics machine or a vag-com will do it, this will allow the engine control unit to know where it's idle is!!!

Your new temp sensor could well cure the problem.

When you get your VAG-COM cable (it will need to be a registered version) you need to read for faults, deal with them and clear the codes. Then when there are no codes stored, get the engine hot. Turn off and turn the ignition back on. Go into adaptation 10 and group 00, read and save and click "yes" when given the option. Come back out of adaptation and go into basic settings 04, sub group 098 and wait whilst the throttle body is adapted and the fourth block in the display says “ADP OK”. Exit basic settings after at least 15 seconds, exit engine group and turn the ignition off for 15 seconds.

Doubt it, those cables usually won't let you into Basic settings 04 and adaptation 10.

Why don't you buy an approved cable? After all, Ross Tec won't keep developing the software for free if no one buys their cables.

Just wondering if you got the new temp sensor & if it worked or not? I'm having similar problems, only idles erratically when the engine is warm, cleaned throttle body too.
