i was driving along in my golf when suddenly i heard a (whizzing noise) which turned out to be the cambelt and tensioner rubbing on the engine mount! after a tow home from a mate, i checked it out, and to my suprise it snaped the off side engine mount bolts all 3! and snaped one of the bolt holes off! (the one that comes off the engine, like a tab type thing) so consulting a vw mechanic i put a complete new cambelt kit on and some new bolts, got the old ones out and put it all back together with the two bolts. 3 weeks later pulling out of the bp garage, its done it again!!! what can i do? i dont want to replace the block!!!

I read about a very similar thing happening over at briskoda forum... Brand spanking new Octavia with about 2000 (from memory) miles on the clock.
I think they tried blaming it on the car being involved in a front end shunt.. but the owner was adamant it wasnt.

Seems to be a bit of a problem!
