I have run a 1991 80 2.0e for the last few years and have now replaced with a 1989 20v 90 quattro. So far the car is a fantastic drive but I am not keen on the metal trim on the bumpers, door trims and window surrounds.Has anybody dechromed a 90 ? If I spray satin black using an etch primer I think it will still eventually flake off. Any ideas please ? Also how many 90 20v quattros (typ 89) were manufactured for the UK ?

You could try black insulation tape, to see how it looks? My mate did a beemer once I think he left it on there and it lasted ok! For what it's worth Audi made a dechromed 90 quattro, the 'sport' version. My brother had a 20v 2wd version.

    hi
i sprayed stainless bits once primed and every thing problem is it comes off eventually or you scratch it and it end up looking a mess
cleaned it off and repolished it
    job not well done
