Ok, as per my previous thread; I was driving my 1.2 Polo last Friday when my DPF light came on just after my engine management light. So I rang an independent VW garage who said that once the engine management light was cleared off I should run it down the motorway to regenerate it. So tonight I looked at the map and decided to run it down the M4 to Bristol and back - roughly 100 miles round trip.

To my horror, just as I reach Bristol my engine management light comes back on as well as a flashing glo-plug warning light!! So now I have 3 lights on...

Can anyone kindly advise me on this?

    Thanks in advance

    Tony

You need the car scanned for diagnostic codes.

    Hello

I put the code reader on the car this morning and it came up with the codes on the picture included. Do I have an issue with my DPF pressure sensor? If so, this concerns me as a local mechanic (allegedly) replaced it only in June. And since then I had a leak from a neat hole punched in the side of my diesel fuel filter (which had to be replaced) and I have had regeneration issues. I also rang the garage who encouraged me to run the car down the motorway last night, and his response was that it was the best way to regenerate as forced can cause the car to catch fire. I never knew that could happen,,

If you were stupid and reset the learnt values of the DPF and cheated the pressure sensor you could set fire to the car but the ECU will not let you get to their point of "warning, car may burn down", a forced regen is the correct procedure once the restriction has passed a certain point, this is why you need to look at the values. It looks like you may have a turbo actuator fault as well to add to your woes.

Turbo actuator fault? Is that expensive?

I am assuming it is a Polo 6R between 2010>2014 with a CFWA code engine? The actuator is not designed to be separately replaced on the Garrett unit used on this engine so if the diaphragm is leaking the turbo will have to be removed for a rebuild and bench set up by a turbo specialist so typically you would be looking at around £850+.
