    Afternoon all,

I'd just like a little assurance really. I jump started a friends car yesterday using the two under bonnet studs (not directly from the battery). I connected up the negative side first and left the engine running. When i went to connect up to the flat car, the crocodile clip swiveled on the negative stud and contacted the live stud. Lots of sparks and fireworks and the engine stalled at that point. The contact must have been less than 2 seconds and the engine started straight up again.

The only worry point is that the temp gauge thought it was -45 and the MPG meter seemed to be acting oddly for a few miles. After about 10 mins of driving everything seemed to reset itself and there seems to be no lasting issues. But, is there anything that I should check after shorting the terminals like this?

Bit of a bad design putting them so close together...

    Cheers,
