Wondering if I can get some advice regarding the clutch on my 2006 1.9tdi.
went to change gear this morning and felt a "pop" in the clutch pedal. The pedal now will stay at the floor with no spring back, though it will move manually. There was no warning, no grinding and no drive problem.
im having it looked at later but was hoping to get an idea on what to prepare for in terms of parts and labour.
my gut feeling is "just a cable" as the problem felt local to the pedal.
    any ideas or help appreciated...
    thanks

It's not a cable, hydraulic clutch. You've blown a cylinder, probably slave cylinder. That'l be the pop you felt.

Is there any oil dripping out of the bottom of the bellhousing? (Where gearbox bolts to engine)?

They're around the £60-£70 mark on ECP.

plus the 6 odd hours labour to pull the box out, and you would be silly not to put a new clutch and dmf in there at the same time, and that wont leave much chnage from 800 quids.

Ahh didn't realise it was a box out job. Thought it was similar to B5.5 but other way round in engine bay.

Yeah, easy if you magically get it to pull all the way in lol. My forearms were on fire last time I put mine in. (From the top) even with the boot base lubed up! Lol.

Even then, for this car ECP is only showing external ones not concentric. Beats me. My forte is the B5 platform lol. I'll bow to superior knowledge on that one.

    Ouch..

Yeah, between 70 and a grand is kind of where I'd quoted for myself
nevermind. It can't move until it's fixed so will have to take the hit, whatever the cost.
Thanks for taking the time to reply guys..
