Caddy Rear Door lock motor noise + not locking

Hi all you honored wise ones,

My 2011 Caddy has just stopped locking the rear doors.
When the key fob is pressed all the rest of the doors lock and unlock as normal but there is a loud grating sound fro the rear door locking release motor.|It comes in 3 short bursts zzz zzz zzz Sounds like a gear wheel jumping.

Can the motor mechanism be dismantled and repaired ?
Or is there no alternative to replacing the the whole unit ?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ok problem sorted........ hopefully !!!

Dismantled the motor driven lock mechanism and found there was a plastic cog that had two teeth missing.
It wasn't a round cog, it looked like a half round cog like the end of a window winder.

Used some Q Bond to build the teeth back up again ( wonderful stuff ) shaped them with a small file and then spent quite a long while figuring how to put it back together.

Seems to work.... so far.

If you have never used Q bond give it a try. Sets rock hard in seconds. A bit difficult to use but it has got me out of a few rather expensive holes.
