Hi all, I've enjoyed reading some of the forum threads, many very useful. I've a few questions on my media interface and hoped you could help me. My car is a newly delivered 66 plate Audi A6 2.0 Black Edition automatic (no options).

I've struggled a bit with the media interface but I've found it reporting itself as software version RMC_EU_P16092 with Nav DB : 8X0919884J - P32-50-15.03

I've no idea what kind of MMI that makes it, nor where to find the latest firmware! It is clearly a very basic model.

    My issues:

    1. I can connect my iPhone (6s) by AMI (?) cable in the glove box but when playing back music it says I should turn off bluetooth. However, if I do I don't have hands free telephony. Any advice?

    2. I like to listen to Spotify on my iPhone but struggle to get this working consistantly. I seem to have to kick off spotify on the handset before closing the glovebox but I can't control the tracks. If I use skip from the MMI unit it switches to the Apple music app and plays music on the handset. Occasionally the first track shows album art and tracks the time of the song but then the display reverts to the song title only (repeated 3 times!). ~Any better way of doing this.

    3. The car came with two cables; iphone and standard usb. If I connect my Samsung Phone (S7) it doesn't register, it just charges. Is there no android support?

    Appreciate any help provided

Firstly welcome and enjoy your car. As you have no options you have what is usually referred to as the RMC MMI system, To your specific questions.

    1. In the Bluetooth Menu (in the settings section of the Phone option) you have the option for connecting the device for Handsfree and Audi. You cannot use the AMI connection for Audio if the Audio Bluetooth connection for the device is also active. It is this part you need to turnoff, as long as you leave the Handsfree option active for the device you can still make calls over bluetooth

    2. I think, and I do not use Spotify myself so this is based on what I have read from others, that you can only use and control Spotify if you are streaming audio via Bluetooth. The AMI interface is only for controlling an Apple device or a media drive

    3. I only have Apple phones so cannot comment on how to get an Android phone to be controlled via the AMI. I am sure many others on here will help you with that

Spotify still works but in the same sporadic way and no control from MMI

Hi, to get Spotify or Amazon Prime etc to work I've found that you first must only have Bluetooth on and not have the charge cable plugged in (which I think you've already discovered). Then start Spotify on your phone and select a track and either play or pause it using the phone. The track should then display on the MMI and to skip forward/backwards to another track you use the forward/backwards button located next to the volume control knob next to the drive selector.

    Hope this makes sense?
